Magazines, ca.1844-1919.

Magazines in the collection include the Ladies' Home Journal, Demorest's Family Magazine, the New York Fashion Bazar [sic], a few other women's magazines, several 1908 issues of Life, an issue of Wild West, and an issue of Secret Service. Some other scattered titles were collected because of the Christmas images on their front covers. As well, the collection includes illustrations, needlework and dress patterns, fashion illustrations, and music removed from magazines, particularly from Godey's Lady's Book and Peterson's Magazine. Many of the pictures have Christmas or Valentine images and are filed in the Grossman collection under the heading Illustrations or Christmas. Some of the magazines include songs.
